"Brave"

I posted something like this on one of my other blogs (which seems to get more views for a bizzare reason) and got a lot of interested parties.

This is Merida:
The princess of one of the 4 clans of Scotland, she longs for a life of freedom, and no need for responsibility. Throughout the movie there is humor, suspense, family, and  magic. As well as bows and arrows, swords, and torches. Not to mention the somewhat ugly looking clansmen(just my opinion). I'm posting the trailer link below. Hope you guys enjoy!

Avengers: Trailer and Character analysis

Alright, so I saw "Avengers" (For the second time) with my boyfriend Alex the other day, and I just loved it. No matter how many times you see some of these clips, you can't help but fall in love with the movie. I think this is one of the best new movies of this year. So, I'm going to put up a trailer I found, as well as analysis's of the characters(Their background sort of) as well as trailers for the original movies they were in. So, I hope you enjoy!

Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPoHPNeU9fc

Link for Tony: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAE5ymVLmZg

Tony Stark:
Hero-Iron man
Analysis: A "Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist"
as he tells Steve Rogers(Captain America). When told about the
"Avengers Initiative":
I "thought I didn't qualify.
I was considered, what was it... volatile, self-centred, and I don't play well with others."
He has a girlfriend named "Pepper" Potts. She's a scientist who helps Tony with his new green energy project. Tony is essentially portrayed as a jerk who only thinks about himself, but it is revealed he actually cares about others when Phil dies fighting Loki. He gets along well with Bruce Banner(Hulk) as they share a interest in science and studies in which the other avengers don't understand. He has a piece of radio active shrapnel in his chest, and only a piece of software he created is preventing its spread throughout his body. When Loki tries to put Tony under his spell, it doesn't work due to the shrapnel. Tony teases him saying "performance issues?" He has a  computer named JARVIS who can help Tony while he's in his Iron Man suit, as well as do things within Tony's home. Stark Tower is the first attempt at Pepper and Tony's green energy plan, and is later used by Loki for a set up to welcome the Chitarui army to Earth. At the end of the movie, Tony is seen in what's left of his home, looking over plans with Pepper, while the "A" in Stark is the only letter still on the Tower, which also symbolizes the Avengers.

Link for Thor: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOddp-nlNvQ

Thor:
I don't know a whole lot about him. He is of the planet Asgard, and adoptive brother to the evil Loki. He carries a hammer which helps him summon his power of lightning, as well as gives enormous power to attacks on his enemies. He tells Loki that the Earth is under his protection, and reveals that he still does care about Loki. He tries to reason with him until Tony in his Iron Man suit attacks him for taking Loki. While in the the plane on the way to S.H.E.I.L.D headquarters, there is thunder and storms as well as lighting. Steve asks him:
"What? Afraid of a little thunder?" Loki responds saying
"No, I'm juts not overly fond of what comes after it."
Thor is friendly with Phil Coulson. He apparently has a girl he cares about on earth, but she was evacuated  as soon as Loki appeared.

Steve's link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JerVrbLldXw

Steve Rogers:
Hero-Captain America
Analysis: At first, he and Tony disagree a lot, as Tony is self-centered and annoys the hell out of him. By the end of the movie they can rely on each other without a second thought. Tony describes Steve to Loki as: "A super soldier, a living legend who kind of lives up to legend." He was frozen in an ocean for 30 years and was awoken by S.H.E.I.L.D operatives including Phil Coulson who idolizes him. He was a project made by the army during WWII as a super soldier, testing a concoction that would help benefit the army and the battle. Steve carries a shield that acts as a boomerang, as well as a defense and offensive weapon. He is the mediator of the group, and is in charge when they need it. In the final battle, he calls out orders and directions to the others, and Tony had been the one to suggest Steve take charge, showing Tony trusts Steve now. Captain America was frozen for many years, meaning he missed a lot. When Fury pulls him back to S.H.E.I.L.D, he says
"Things are gonna be a bit of a surprise to you since you've been gone so long."
"I've seen so many strange things, I doubt anything will surprise me at this point." Steve is dubious that things have changed so much. Director Fury almost laughs.
"Ten bucks says your wrong."

Link for Bruce: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8SyqH3fjfA

Bruce Banner:
Hero-Hulk
Analysis: A scientist who tried to recreate the formula that made Steve Rogers into Captain America (As Steve had originally been small and skinny). Unfortunately, he must have missed something as he became "Hulk". Whenever he gets angry he turns into a massive green giant who can crush airplanes easily. Thor was the closest to being able to keep him under control when he lost control on the helicarrier. But, eventually even Thor didn't measure up to the angry beast. Banner detests the Hulk and refers to him as "The Other Guy" which shows he believes them to be separate beings. He gets along well with Tony Stark through their combined interest in science, and the fact that they can understand each other when they go into the realm of scientific studies. He is brought in by Natasha (the Black Widow) to help trace the gamma radiation given off by the Tesseract. He is dubious, but agrees to come anyway, making Director Fury promise he'd be allowed to leave once the Tesseract was found. When Natasha comes to recruit him, he's in the middle of the war zone, taking care of the ill. Natasha states:
"Doctor, we are talking about a major catastrope." He replies saying:
"Well those, I actively try to avoid."   The prison Loki was held in while on the helicarrier was originally intended for the Hulk.

Natasha Romanoff(Natalia Romanova)
Hero-Black Widow
Analysis:Originally a master assassin, she used her good looks to seduce enemies. A part of the "Black Widow Program" in Russia, she was trained to take on any opponent, no matter their size, or strength. She has a deep bond with Clint Barton(Hawk eye) as he saved her life. She had been sent to kill Tony Stark (who S.H.E.I.L.D had wanted to protect for the reason they might need "Iron Man" someday) and S.H.E.I.L.D had sent Clint Barton to assinate her. But as she reveals to Loki:
"Agent Barton was sent to kill me. He made a different call." She also claimed the only reasont she wanted Loki to release Clint was because as she says:
"I have some red on my ledger. I'll like to wipe it out." Loki responds in a vile way.
"Drakov's daughter, the hospital fire, oh yes, Barton told me all about that. Your ledger is dripping with red, how much do you think you can wash out?" She remains impassive, but Loki continues.
"You'd trade the entire world for a man no more virtuous than yourself? Is that supposed to be love?"
"Empire's fall every day. I would know, I'm Russian. Or was. Love is for children."
"This is the most pathetic thing ever. This is a child's prayer! I will have Barton kill you slowly, intimately, in ever way he knows you fear. And once he is awake enough to realize what he's done, I'll dispose of him as well."
"You're a monster!" Natasha turned away fake sobbing.
"No! It is YOU who brought the monster on board!" Natasha then turns around, her face neutral again.
"Banner. So that's your play. Thank you for your cooperation." She then walks off. As a member of the Black Widow program, she learned many interogation techniques. She and Clint are partners from time to time, and they have a deep bond. Some may call it loyalty and friendship, others love. It's still up for debate at the moment.

Link for Clint: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLEjwzDWSQo

Clint Barton:
Hero-Hawkeye
Analysis: Originally a hired assassin like Natasha, he was eventually recruited by Director Fury for the "Avengers Initiative" if it ever became necessary. He can hit any target, and prefers heights because he has a better perspective on the world around him. He carries his trusty bow and arrow, with his mechanical quiver. His arrows range from regular arrows, to rappel cords, to exploding arrows. Basically, you don't wanna mess with him. He was also trained for close combat, giving him the ability to become a wonderful fighter even without his bow(which he uses as a weapon even in close combat)  He carries a Glock pistol with him, just in case. He spared Natasha's life when he was sent to kill her, and no one knows the real reason why. They share a deep connection, and are both stubborn. Clint was put under Loki's mind control spell, forcing him to kill many people and commit horrible deeds. He remembers all of it and hates it. Loki forces him to attack and attempt to kill his best friend, Natasha. They fight, and Natasha tries desperately not to kill him. She eventually knocks him on a railing, causing Loki's influence to flee from Clint's mind. He calls Natasha a variety of nick names which include: Nat, Tasha, and Widow. When he awakes from Loki's spell, he said that shooting an arrow through Loki's eye socket would make him feel a bit better, and Natasha claims he's back to his old self. He then joins the other avengers in their mission to save the world.
Before Loki leaves with Thor to Asgard, Natasha whispers something in Clint's ear causing him to smile. There has been much speculation on what she said.
At the end of the movie when the heroes go their seperate ways, he and Natasha get in a car driving to god knows where. We all can assume that whereever they end up rooming, their suite(s) is/are going to be covered in traps.

A tribute to Sherlock and John's wonderful friendship.

This is a tribute to the absolute true friendship between Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson. The song is called "Umbrella" by Rhianna. Enjoy my friends!

This pic is from the first episode of Sherlock, "A Study in Pink". John and Sherlock have just run from the police after impersonating as police themselves.

John: *looks at ID Sherlock had* D.I Lestrade?" Where did you get this?"
Sherlock: "I pickpocket him when he's annoying. Keep it if you like I have tons of them."

This is from "The Reichanbach falls":
John: "No, you're doing it again, the face."
Sherlock: "What face? I can't see it can I?"
John: *Points to mirror-Sherlock looks*
Sherlock: "Thats just my face."
John: "No, its a look that's saying we both know what's going on here."
Sherlock: "We do."
John: "No, I don't, wich is why I find "The Face" so annoying."

This is from "The Great Game"
In this scene, John is trying to ask Sherlock what's going on.
"Just to make sure, do you actually care about the lives at stake here?"
"Does caring about them help save them?"
"Nope."
"Then I continue not to make that mistake."

This is from "Hound of the Baskervilles"

"This is what I said before John, and I meant it. I haven't got friends. I've only got the one."

Paul McCartney at the Girshwin Awards Finale

Sir Paul McCartney was awarded his Girshwin award in 2010(i think) for life time of musical achievement. I only saw this broadcasted last night :/

And since he had his Girshwin, he got to perform at the White House. Many talented artists came as well to sing his songs such as :"Long and Winding Road"(Faith Hill) "We Can work it out"(Stevie Wonder) "Penny Lane" (Elvis Costello), "Black Bird" (Corrine Bailey and Herbie Hancock) "Baby you can drive my car"(The Jonas Brothers-mostly there for the younger Obama's(Sasha and Malia's) appreciation.) "Band on the Run" (Dave Grohl-i think his name was)and a couple more. Paul sang some of his own as well such as "Let it be", "Yesterday", and the finale of the event, a rousing all including sing along of "Hey Jude" in which all the artists came to the stage and began to sing with him. The Obama's and several other people from the audience joined them on the stage.

The event was amazing and I would have KILLED to be there. Everyone seemed to have lots of fun. And, for your benefit(Who ever reads this) I'm posting the link to Paul's finale of "Hey Jude" so have fun and feel free to sing your heart out!

"Sherlock" Quotes from the "Great Game"

"The Great Game" is the last episode in season 1, and frankly I was falling in love with the characters. Moriarty was much more different than I expected, but I still liked him. He was so wonderfully evil in a calm buisnessman sort of way. From his facial expressions to his Westwood suit. But the whole episode is absolutely teeming with wonderfully dramatic and hilarious quotes. Enjoy~!

Sherlock: "Just tell me what happened from the beginning."
Barry: "We've been to a bar, a nice place, and I was chattin' with one of the waitresses and Karen weren't happy with that, so we got back to the hotel and ended up having a bit of a ding dong, didn't we? She was gettin' at me, saying I weren’t a real man-- "
Sherlock: "Wasn’t."
Barry: "What?"
Sherlock: "It’s not weren’t, it’s wasn’t."
Barry: "Oh..."
Sherlock: "Go on."
Barry: "Well, then I don’t know how it happened but suddenly there's a knife in my hands. And you know, my old man was a butcher so I know how to handle knives. He learned us how to cut up a piece-- "
Sherlock: "Taught."
Barry: "What?"
Sherlock: "Taught you how to cut up a piece."
Barry: "Yeah, well, then I done it."
Sherlock: "Did it."
Barry: "I stabbed her over and over and over and I looked at her and she weren’t-- ... wasn't movin' no more. Any more."
Barry: "Hey, you gotta help me, Mr. Holmes! Everyone says you're the best. Without you... I'll get hung for this."
Sherlock: "No, no, Mr. Bewick, not at all. Hanged, yes."
-Sherlock interviewing a murderer

[Sherlock shooting a smiley face on the wall with a hand gun]
John: *coming upstairs* "What the hell are you doing?!"
Sherlock: "Bored."
John: "...what?"
Sherlock: "Bored!"
He shoots the wall.
Sherlock: "Bored!"
*Shoots wall again.*
Sherlock: "Bored!  *flops on sofa* I don't know what's gotten into the criminal classes, good job I'm not one of them."
John: "So you take it out on the wall?"
Sherlock: "Oh, the wall had it coming."
-Sherlock....bored. :)

[John walks into the kitchen]
"Anything in? I'm starving."
[Opens fridge] "Ah."
[Closes fridge then calls to Sherlock]
John:"A severed head!"
Sherlock: "Just tea for me thanks."
John: "A bloody head!"
Sherlock: "Where else was I supposed to put it?"
-O.O

Sherlock:[Looking out window at London]  "Look at that, Mrs. Hudson. Quiet, calm, peaceful... isn't it hateful?"
Mrs. Hudson: "Oh, I'm sure something will turn up, Sherlock. A nice murder, that'll cheer you up."
Sherlock: "It can't come too soon."
Mrs.Hudson: [Sees bullets in her wall] "What have you done to my bloody wall?! I'm putting this on your rent young man!"
Sherlock *smiles*
[Massive Explosion]

[John sees the explosion at Baker Street on the news(he's at Sarah's)]
"Sarah, I have to go! Thanks for everything!"
[Runs to flat]
John: "Sherlock are you ok?"
[Sees Mycroft and Sherlock sitting in the only two undamaged chairs in the room surrounded by mess of the explosion]
Sherlock: *plucks string on violin absently* "Yeah, I'm fine. How was sleeping on the edge of the bed?"
Mycroft: "Sofa Sherlock, Sofa."
Sherlock: "Oh yes, of course..."

Moriarty: [Leaving the pool area] "Ciao, Sherlock Holmes."
Sherlock: [Following Moriarty's progress with a gun in his hand] "Catch..you..later."
Moriarty: *sing song voice* "No you won't!"

[About John's Blog]
Sherlock: "You read his blog?"
Lestrade: "'Course I read his blog, we all do! Do you really not know that the earth goes around the sun?"

Lestrade: "But what's this got to do with that painting? I don't see-- "
Sherlock: "You do see, you just don't observe!"
John: "Alright! Alright, girls, calm down."

"Oh, so you meant spectacularly ignorant in a nice way."
-- Sherlock

Sherlock: "People have died."
Moriarty: "That's what people DO!"

"Moriarty: "It used to be fine, but now your just getting in the way!"
Sherlock: "Thank you."
Moriarty: "I didn't mean it as a compliment."
Sherlock: "Yes you did."
Moriarty: "Alright I did."

Jim Moriarty: "I will burn the heart out of you."
Sherlock: "I have been reliably informed that I don't have one."
Jim Moriarty: "Oh, but we both know that's not quite true."

[Sniper dots are gone-Sherlock's quickly yanking the bomb off John]
Sherlock: "Are you ok?"
John: "Yeah-yeah I'm ok."
Sherlock: "That-that thing that you offered to do back there [referring to John holding Moriarty close so Sherlock could shoot him, and as a result kill Moriarty] "That was good."
John: "Glad no one saw that."
Sherlock: "What?"
John: "You, ripping off my clothes in a darkened swimming pool. People might talk."
Sherlock: "People do little else."
[Moriarty returns]
Moriarty: "Sorry boys! I am SO changeable! It is a weakness of mine. But, to be fair to myself, it is my only weakness. You can't be allowed to continue Sherlock. *straight face* You just can't."

Sherlock: Quotes from the Study in Pink

I enjoyed the original "Sherlock Holmes" (With Jeremy Brett) and when PBS started playing "Sherlock" a modern version of Sherlock Holmes, I couldn't resist. And I fell head over heels in love with it. Here are some quotes from the first episode; The Study in Pink(In the original Sherlock Holmes-The Study in Scarlet)

"Oh look at you lot. Your all so vacant. Is it nice not being me? It must be so relaxing."
-Sherlock

"Dear god what is it like in your funny little brains? It must be so boring!"
-Sherlock

"Well this is a prime spot. Must be expensive."
"Mrs. Hudson, the landlady is giving me a special deal. She owes me a favor. A few years back her husband got himself sentenced to death in Florida. I was able to help out."
"You stopped her husband from being executed?"
"Oh, no. I ensured it."
-Sherlock and John(at Baker Street)

"I'm not a physcopath Anderson, I'm a highly functioning sociopath. Do your research."
-Sherlock

"We've got a serial killer! Love those, always something to look forward to!"
-Sherlock

"[To Sherlock] Where did you get a colleague?" [To John] "Did he follow you home?"
-Sally Donovan(unaired version)

"You've got 2 minutes"
"Might need more"
"I'm breaking every rule to let you in on this in the first place!"
"Yes, because you need me."
"Yes I do, God help me."
-Sherlock and Lestrade(Bet you can guess who says what)

"For goodness sake! I occupy a minor position in the British Government."
"He is the British Government when he's not too busy being the British Secret Services or the CIA on a freelance basis. Good evening, Mycroft. Try not to start a war before I get home, you know what it does for the traffic."
-Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes

[John has just killed the cabbie]
Sherlock: "Are you alright?"
John: "Yes, of course I'm alright."
Sherlock: "Well, you have just killed a man."
John: "Yes... that's true, isn't it... but he wasn't a very nice man."
Sherlock: "No... no, he wasn't really, was he?"
John: "No, frankly, a bloody awful cabbie.'
Sherlock: "That's true, he was a bad cabbie. You should've seen the route he took us to get here."
*both start giggling*
John: "Stop it! We can't giggle at a crime scene."

"That's fantastic!"
"Do you know you do that out loud?"
"Sorry. I'll shut up.
"No, it's...fine."
-John and Sherlock(Talking about Sherlock's deductions)

Sally Donovan: "Are these human eyes?"
Sherlock:"Put those back!"
Sally Donovan: "They were in the microwave."
Sherlock:"Its an experiment."

"Where did you get this? Dectective Inspector Lestrade?"
"I pickpocket him when he's annoying."
-John and Sherlock

[About Mycroft's discussion with John]
Sherlock:"Did he offer you money to spy on me...?"
John:"Yes."
Sherlock:"Did you take it?"
John: " ...No?"
Sherlock: "Pity, we could've split the fee. Think it through next time."

"This is how you get your kicks isn't it? You risk your life to prove your clever."
"Why would I do that?"
"Because your an idiot." *both smile*
-John and Sherlock

"Sorry, gotta dash, I think I left my riding crop in the mortuary."
-Sherlock

Sherlock: "The bullet they just dug out of the wall is from a handgun. A killer shot like that over that distance from that sort of weapon, you're looking for a crack shot but not just a marksman, his hands musn't have shaken at all so clearly he's acclimatised to violence. He didn't fire until I was in immediate danger though, so obviously has a strong moral principles. You're looking for someone probably with a history of military service and nerves of steel... [sees John] Actually, you know what? Ignore me."
Lestrade:" ... Sorry?"
Sherlock: "Ignore all of that. It's just the, uh, shock talking."
Lestrade: "Wait, where are you going?"
Sherlock:"I just need to, uh, talk about the rent —"
Lestrade: "But I still have questions for you!"
Sherlock: "Oh, what now? I'm in shock! Look, I've got a blanket!"

Star Trek Next Generation:First Episode-Encounter at Fairpoint

I'm just watching the new Star Trek series with my dad. I loved Captain Kirk and was sad to seem him go-(I also cried my eyeballs out when Spok died *sob*) But the new Generation has new wonderful people and characters.

Captain Jean-Luc Picard: Captain of the Enterprise some 80 years after the original Star Trek. He was stabbed in the heart by a Nausicaan and had an implant that was near fatal. He later became a first officer on the starship USS Stargazer which he would later become captain of. He's logical, highly inteligent, and is known for his great moral and beliefs. He is good in tactical situations and has shown his abilities from this first episode to be a great debater as well as an ambassador.

William Riker: First Officer on the Enterprise he is first shown on Fairpoint where he is waiting to be picked up. While there, he discovers strange things happening. Every time a human wants something, it suddenly appears. When he first comes aboard the Enterprise he is depicted as young, ambitious, and dedicated to his job, even if it means stepping outside the lines. At one point when he first meets Picard, he says that it is his duty to look after everyone on the ship, including Captain Picard. Picard then tests Riker by having him manually attach the Saucer back onto the ship(Saucers being emergency escape pods that can be steered.) He has apparently met Troi before and when they first meet again she speaks in his mind, questioning him if he "still remembers" what she taught him. He is fascinated by Data and his extensive knowledge, but human characteristics;as well as the Enterprise itself.

Deanna Troi: The Enterprise's Betazoid(or half Betazoid as she often reminds people) She can sense emotions and sometimes thoughts from different people and entities. To feel these, she opens her mind. In the first episode, when on Fairpoint (in the underground tunnel) she says she feels pain, despair, and greif. It hurts her so much that Riker asks her to close her mind. But she is determined to find the source of this great pain. When the source seems to be a alien entity able to create geothermal energy, only the alien is prisoner, she is shown to have a face of understanding. When the entity is rescued by the crew of the Enterprise and returned to its mate(who had been wrecking vengance on the old homes of Fairpoint searching for it's mate) She tells the Captain that she feels "Great Joy. Great Joy and gratitude. Great Joy and Gratitude."

Data:An Android on the Enterprise who is every bit as logical as a computer. Having the memory of a computer and a full library in his head, Data is a valuable crew member aboard ship. When Doctor McCoy(Who was a Doctor on the original Enterprise) shows up in a cameo appearance, he meets Data, and says "Well your ears aren't pointed but you sure sound like a Vulkan". Data explains that he is an Android. Doctor McCoy replies "almost as bad." When Data says he was given to believe the Vulkans to be an honorable race, McCoy agrees but also says "They can be damned annoying too." In this, he is refering to Spok, a Vulkan on the original Enterprise along with him. Spok had been first officer next to James Kirk and was an extremely stubborn, and logical man.

For me, those are the main characters I focused on in this episode. We meet the "Q" Who seems determined to destroy the Enterprise and all its crew. He wants the humans to stop space exploration because their past is so dangerous, petty, and full of war. He tests Picard and his crew on Faripoint for the crew to prove humanity has changed.Q makes an excellent villan and will probably return for many more dangerous, and no doubt puzzling tests for the crew in the future episodes.
